Formatted through Mac, not recognized by XP
Pretty much what I said in the title. Today I formatted (NTFS-3g) a 250gb external through OS 10.5.7 at work, brought the drive home to test on an XP PC, and it's showing up in Disk Manager as a not-initialized, unallocated drive. If this is a known issue, or NTFS-3g isn't supposed to work this way, I apologize in advance. I tried to find a similar post somewhere in the forums. Also, the FAQ link given out in one post appears to be dead.
Thanks

Re: Formatted through Mac, not recognized by XP
Hi,
What partition system did you use when initializing the drive? Windows only supports the MBR (Master Boot Record) and (for newer Windows versions) GPT (GUID Partition Table) partition schemes.
Specifically, if the drive is initialized with the Apple Partition Map partition scheme, Windows will not be able to access it. For maximum compatibility, choose Master Boot Record.
If it still doesn't work, and you have verified that the drive is partitioned with the Master Boot Record scheme, please reply back.
Regards,
- Erik
