Strange behaviour on osol express b111 cloned entries
Hi everyone. Funny that ntfs got the filesystem who works best for os independent file exchange. But back to the topic.
I use opensolaris express b111 with cifs to access my files from the network. Everything worked well until now, I compiled everything and mounted everything. I see my files, but after the first access of a folder with many entries (for example my documentation folder) every file appears cloned on the windows file list. If I access the folder at the same time with ssh and list the contents with ls everything is shown normally, with only one entry per file.
This happens only if windows tries to build up the preview cache!!! If I wait for windows to finish the file preview caching I got more entries (with exatly the same name, icon, creation date...) for a single file. If i access a folder who is only containing executables they are shown normally, with only one entry per file.
Does someone can reproduce this behaviour? Is it fixed? Is it only present on open solaris?
The host is open solaris express b111 (cifs smb server) the client is windows vista x64.
Thanks for the advance, greets Louis.

Hi,
CIFS doesn't involve the NTFS-3G driver in any way.

Hm, this happens if I open a folder with many files. It clearly has nothing to do with windows preview caching.
I reformated my driver for zfs and the problem is gone.
