Interested in mobile, content, data and the cloud? Come and hack with us!
Next February 20th we will be hosting our first hackathon at Tuxera. This is a unique opportunity to develop your coding skills, learn from industry experts and meet other technology enthusiasts.
This hackathon is the first in a series of events aimed for developers who want to learn and build new ideas and explore new possibilities around data storage and file and content management in mobile devices (Android and iOS) and the cloud. You’ll learn the main tools, principles and patterns for handling and interacting with content and data stored locally or in the cloud, and how to build a great app and take it to the market. Our developers will provide coaching and help during the whole event. You’ll also get to meet and hack with people who love coding and creating new things as much as you do.
During the hackathons you will work in small teams. You can come up with your own ideas but we’ll also have a list of topics and challenges to help you get started. At the end of the event you can showcase your progress; keep in mind that this is the first part of a series of monthly events and we hope you can take part in all of them. In the final hackathon we’ll also give away great prizes –more on this later.
All hackathons are free of charge, but places are very limited. The event is held in English. Location for the event is Helsinki, Itämerenkatu 9, 6th Floor.
What you will need
Bring your own laptop and smartphone, and have Android Studio and/or Xcode installed. To make the most of the hackathons, ideally you already have some experience developing mobile applications.
We provide everything else including network connectivity, pizza, snacks and beverages. Our coaches will assist you during the event and help you with your code, so you can focus in learning new things and having fun!

Is this event for me?
The hackathons are targeted to software developers and hackers. You can also join if you are a beginner and have an understanding of the Android and iOS platform, and knowledge of the tools that are required in mobile development. We will send a list of reads before the first hackathon to all participants, so that you can familiarize with the tools that are required.
