Post Copied files to partition > invisible but taking up space
I copied a 25GB folder full of files to an NTFS partiton and when the copy was done, the free disk space decreased by 25GB but the files are nowhere to be found.

I ran chkdsk, which afterwards revealed an OS X hidden file that corresponds to the directory copied "._Folder Name", but still, the copied folder and files simply aren't there in the file system, even though disk space is being used.

Anything I can try to burp NTFS to:
1) make these files appear
or
2) free up the used disk space?

Thanks, all!

I have the same problem. Do any of these files contain non-standard characters? Can you see the files if you mount the drive from within windows 7/8?
