The technical validation speaks for itself: Quantum’s latest testing demonstrates that a single Windows client configured for SMB Direct and SMB Multichannel can achieve near line speed, exceeding 10 GB/s with their F-Series NVMe all-flash arrays when powered by Tuxera Fusion SMB.

“What’s been really good working with you guys is that we’re able to get that same level of performance, particularly on the bandwidth level, but without having to install any specialist software,” Evans explained. “It’s all being delivered over standard Ethernet.” 

This capability proves particularly valuable for Mac environments and systems where custom client installations aren’t feasible. The partnership allows pixitmedia to offer both their traditional high-performance client solutions and standard SMB access through Tuxera Fusion, providing customers with flexible deployment options that match their specific workflow requirements.

Ken Seibert from ATTO Technology’s customer engineering team shared insights into their 35-year heritage in connectivity solutions and their focus on optimization across Mac, Windows, and Linux environments. “When you’re at the show and customers come up and talk about the kind of performance that they’re seeing with you guys, it’s nice to bring this back to our engineering team,” Seibert noted. 

The collaboration goes beyond simple compatibility. ATTO’s latest ATTO 360 tuning software now includes specialized profiles optimized for Tuxera Fusion environments, enabling users to maximize performance when connecting to Fusion-powered storage systems. Our joint testing has achieved sustained throughput of 5.4 GB/s with peaks reaching 7.6 GB/s on 100 Gigabit Ethernet connections – performance levels that approach the theoretical maximum of the network hardware. 

Looking ahead, ATTO’s introduction of Thunderbolt 5 to 100 Gigabit Ethernet solutions promises even greater possibilities for high-performance media workflows, with evaluation units already planned for extended testing with Tuxera Fusion SMB.
