4. Technical interview
WORKING IN FINLAND
In Finland you don’t need to worry too much about not speaking the local languages, Finnish or Swedish. Most people know English and it’s widely used, especially in the capital region. In many high-tech companies, such as Tuxera, English is used as the main working language.
Finland may have a small population, but we’re big on brainpower. The tech industry is the most important export business in Finland, and we’re home to many tech companies such as Nokia, F-Secure, and Tieto.
The country has been ranked as one of the most innovative countries in the world according to Bloomberg Innovation Index, Global Innovation Index, and the European Innovation Scoreboard.
Slush 2016, Samuli Pentti
According to the Global Competitiveness Report and Pearson’s index, Finland has one of the highest standard schooling systems in the world. This also goes for higher education, and there are a lot of foreign students studying in Finnish universities. Plus, you can find many schools with curricula in English.
In Finnish life, safety can be measured in many ways: peace, welfare, friendly people, equality, and the people’s state of mind. Helsinki is acknowledged as one of the safest capitals in the world. And when it comes to the workplace, employee safety and welfare is also highly regarded.
Here nature is always within easy reach, even within the capital region. Also, the beautiful seasonal extremes allow you to enjoy nature from many angles, whether it’s the long, sunny days of the summer or the snow and aurora-lit skies of winter.
EASY TO REACH
Finland is conveniently located between East and West. Helsinki Airport has been selected as one of the best airports in the world, has the fastest flight connections to Asia, and all major European cities are only a few-hours flight away.
Plus, getting around the Helsinki capital region is easy because it’s so well connected by metro, bus, train, and tram – all available throughout the day and night.
