Extreme file system performance targeted for HD-capable media players and NAS systems

HELSINKI, FINLAND. Tuxera, the market leading NTFS and exFAT file system solution provider today announced support for Freescale’s PowerQUICC communications processors family. Freescale’s processors are used in home in media servers and high-speed network-attached storage (NAS) systems.

“We are delighted to work together with Freescale to deliver modern file system interoperability into the most demanding systems. Cooperation with Freescale highlights the success of Tuxera’s high-reliability, high-performance NTFS technology and helps Freescale customers seamlessly migrate from FAT to the next generation file systems.” said Mikko Välimäki, Tuxera CEO.

Nikolay Guenov, Growth Segment Marketing Manager for Freescale’s Network Processor Division notes: “We chose Tuxera with the clear value proposition to PowerQUICC processor customers. Tuxera NTFS performed solidly in our tests – read and write speeds were comparable or better than ext3, the most popular Linux file system. Combining Tuxera NTFS with Freescale PowerQUICC processors adds crucial functionality needed for today’s highly competitive products and helps designers to speed up their time-to-market.”
