We are pleased to announce the general availability of EdgeFS 3.0, a major release of our embedded POSIX-like file system for resource-constrained devices. This release expands EdgeFS’s POSIX compatibility, brings the userspace driver to Windows, and gives integrators more flexibility at format time.
Highlights of the release
EdgeFS 3.0 continues Tuxera’s investment in a file system engineered for the realities of mission-critical devices — where security, portability, and provisioning flexibility matter as much as footprint and reliability. Devices in automotive, industrial automation, smart energy, and defense are increasingly running multiple applications on shared storage under strict traceability and data-isolation expectations. As edge devices take on new roles, including Physical AI workloads that sense, decide, and act in the real world, the underlying storage layer becomes a foundational element of system trustworthiness.
