The companies continue to bring reliable data-handling to enterprises

Helsinki, Finland – October 17, 2018 – Tuxera, the world’s leading storage software and networking technology company, today announced that ClearSky Data is using the Tuxera Server Message Block (SMB) protocol (now Fusion File Share by Tuxera as of 2019) for its on-demand primary storage service with built-in offsite backup and disaster recovery (DR). The solution is designed to support reliable and seamless data transport between network-attached storage (NAS) infrastructure and Microsoft Windows solutions.

The Fusion File Share implementation is a proprietary solution that brings support for the Microsoft SMB protocol to the enterprise storage market. Fusion File Share makes it possible to securely share files over a network with multiple clients simultaneously in a Windows Active Directory environment, while ensuring high availability for storage infrastructures.

According to TechNavio, the enterprise storage market is expected to grow at the compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 3.41 percent from 2018 to 2022. The main drivers for growth include the rapid adoption of cloud applications and data storage.

“We are excited to announce our partnership. Working closely with ClearSky, we have launched a reliable and scalable solution that meets the requirements of an enterprise-grade storage architecture. We are pleased to be a part of ClearSky’s offering, as well as showcasing our expertise and the Tuxera SMB protocol,” says Jouni Welander, General Manager of North America of Tuxera.

“At ClearSky, we offer primary storage, backup, and disaster recovery as a simple, unified service that provides flash performance. Tuxera SMB is playing a key role in our service as we work to continuously find new solutions that help us ensure an excellent experience for our customers,” says Laz Vekiarides, Co-founder and CTO at ClearSky Data.
