NitroFS recognized for fault-tolerant architecture and deployments in space, motorsport, and industrial environments
Helsinki, March 9, 2026: Embedded Computing Design (a division of OpenSystems Media) has named Tuxera’s NitroFS file system a winner of its 2026 embedded world Best in Show Award. The award recognizes design excellence, performance, and market impact.
“These are the best-in-class embedded systems and products on the market,” said Ken Briodagh, Editor-in-Chief of Embedded Computing Design.
“When storage fails in harsh, mission-critical environments, systems stop, vehicles stall, and critical operations grind to a halt — with no IT team standing by to fix it,” said Marko Finnig, VP Embedded Solutions at Tuxera. “Engineers designed NitroFS to keep working when everything else is under pressure, and this recognition reflects their work.”
NitroFS is a file system engineered for embedded systems operating in space, on factory floors, and inside Formula 1 racing cars — environments where systems must perform reliably for decades. Its patented copy-on-write architecture prevents data corruption and enables instant recovery to a known-good state in under 0.4 seconds, without lengthy repair procedures. Customers include NASA, Motorola, Rockwell, and Magneti Marelli.
