The partnership promises increased performance and advanced security for automotive storage systems
MAINZ, Germany, and ESPOO, Finland – July 17, 2019 – Tuxera, the world-leading storage software and networking technology company, has announced its partnership with SYSGO, a European leader in RTOS and hypervisor technology. The alliance comes as a response to the growing global demand for increasingly advanced embedded file system storage in the automotive sector.
“More and more, we are seeing vehicles becoming interconnected with software, and open to the movement of data. ADAS systems and IVIs are great examples of this trend. Such levels of data use require storage software that is both fast-acting and stable. VelocityFS by Tuxera is our answer to this, and a result of our commitment to building the world’s best flash storage solutions. Through this partnership with SYSGO, we are confident that automotive file system storage will reach a new level of performance and security. The cooperation also expands our ecosystem to support safe and secure embedded systems,” says Bernd Niedermeier, Sales Director of Automotive at Tuxera.
“It is great to have VelocityFS by Tuxera now supporting PikeOS®. By collaborating with Tuxera, we continue to provide high quality solutions for increasingly demanding automotive applications. Both PikeOS® and VelocityFS are known as robust and stable solutions that have a strong value for embedded systems in automotive and other vertical markets,” says Franz Walkembach, VP Marketing & Alliances at SYSGO.
Powering up the RTOS for a new era of embedded
VelocityFS by Tuxera is the only modern flash storage system that operates on all major automotive operating systems, including real-time data-heavy solutions. The software system offers high-end performance through minimal CPU usage as well as competitive read and write speeds. VelocityFS by Tuxera also prevents data corruption and loss, while reducing flash memory deterioration. In addition, with its multi-level encryption combined with user- and group-level quotas, VelocityFS by Tuxera enables improved security on PikeOS®’s architecture.
SYSGO’s PikeOS® is the only real-time operating system carrying the Common Criteria EAL3+ certification, providing MILS conformant security on an architectural level, which at the same time is certified according to ISO 26262. The operating system’s central kernel ensures separation between multiple applications, leading to a rigorous level of safety and security within its hypervisor platform. The combination of VelocityFS by Tuxera and PikeOS® brings new levels of speed, reliability, and cost-effective performance to the software stack – enabling advanced data-driven applications for automotive OEMs and Tier-1s.
